Financial Aid at a Glance

We provide virtual counseling and have resources for students to access aid information online through our Contact Us/Virtual Counseling page, which lists FAQs and includes self-service options to complete tasks remotely.

Advisors are available in office, by email at finaid@uiwtx.edu or telephone at (210) 829-6008 during office hours. Zoom appointments are also available by request.

2024 - 2025 FAFSA Update

The 2024 - 2025 FAFSA is open! If you did not put UIW on your FAFSA initially, you can add us using our school code (003578). Prepare to complete your FAFSA by having 2022 tax information available (tax returns and W2s, if applicable) and making sure you have your FSA ID handy. Your parent(s) will also need an FSA ID if you are a dependent student. Make sure UIW has your Social Security Number on file, as it's required in order to bring in your FAFSA data. Keep an eye on your student email for updates!

Need help completing your FAFSA? Come in and see us, or schedule a virtual appointment! We must be able to see your screen in order to efficiently assist you and/or troubleshoot any problems with completing your FAFSA.

Meet with the Office of Financial Assistance

Set up an appointment to meet in-person or online with the Office of Financial Assistance to get help one-on-one. Students should have their FSA ID to log in, and parent(s) should have theirs set up to bring with them so staff can assist with any issues. For parents who are unable to retrieve or create their FSA ID, we recommend an individual in-person or virtual appointment with the Office of Financial Assistance before the workshop.

We are also able to assist in reviewing UIW financial aid offer letters that have been received.

If you are an admitted student who has submitted your FAFSA and has received a Student Aid Index (SAI) number from Federal Student Aid, you may book an in-person or virtual appointment with the Office of Financial Assistance so we can provide an estimated aid package.

The Office of Financial Assistance will assist you as you progress on your journey to becoming a UIW graduate. Our office is committed to helping you understand the services we provide, the financial options available to pay for school, and the academic requirements that must be met to remain eligible for aid. Our goal is to help you manage any financial barriers that you may encounter and provide resources so your education at UIW is affordable.

Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to apply for financial aid (grants, work-study, and loans) to pay for college. You (and your parent, if dependent) will need to create an FSA ID before starting the process. Applications for the following year open Oct. 1.
